Strategic Consultant - AI Tools for Recruitment Automation
Description:
The Client seeks to pilot a strategic, AI-supported solution to streamline and partially automate their recruitment processes.
The aim is to reduce manual workload, improve candidate filtering, and better leverage existing employee networks for talent identification.
The initial focus is on designing a fit-for-purpose AI tools landscape - not building custom software -but by assessing and recommending off-the-shelf solutions that can integrate with existing workflows.
This project also includes lightweight exploration into potential future phases involving employee network mapping and referral optimization.
Requirements:
Experience guiding HR teams through new tech adoption
Previous work evaluating or shortlisting HR tech vendors (RFPs, pilot selection, etc.), and familiarity in to navigating enterprise SaaS pricing, SLAs, and support tiers
Skill in capturing current-state vs. future-state workflows and ability to help the team see what will change in their day-to-day work
Understanding of recruitment lifecycles in mid-sized or resource-constrained organizations
Bonus if have worked with renewable energy, infrastructure, or engineering sectors where specialized talent is key
Knows the basics of candidate data handling, GDPR/POPIA considerations, and how AI recruitment tools comply (or not)
Can flag red flags or help clients avoid tools that pose legal risks
Proven experience with AI/ML tools for HR/recruitment (e.g., HireVue, Paradox, SeekOut, Hume, etc.)
Familiarity with ATS tools and CRM-style talent platforms
Comfortable assessing API compatibility and integrations with Microsoft environments (Teams, SharePoint)
Strong understanding of SaaS evaluation (ROI, licensing, support models)
Ability to translate technical possibilities into HR context
Comfortable engaging both technical (IT) and non-technical (HR, ExCo) stakeholders
Skilled at synthesizing diverse inputs into actionable, human-centered recommendations
Approachable and collaborative, especially with time-pressed teams
