One of our companies is currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Identity & Auth in Finland.

As a Staff Software Engineer focused on Identity & Auth, you will lead the development of secure, scalable solutions for identity and access management (IAM) at Mapbox. Your work will include designing robust authentication systems, driving anti-fraud initiatives, and optimizing token security to ensure the reliability and security of all customer interactions. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll help build a future-proof platform that aligns with the company’s growth and continuously improve the IAM ecosystem.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the design and development of IAM features such as sign-up, sign-in, security, and token management to meet Mapbox customers’ needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Billing, Security, and Platform to understand requirements and drive feature development.
• Optimize systems for scalability, security, and long-term maintainability to support the rapid growth of the platform.
• Promote operational excellence by conducting thorough testing, monitoring services, and being on-call to support system health.
• Document technical decisions and contribute to the knowledge-sharing culture through presentations and discussions.

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years as a software engineer with expertise in identity and authorization technologies, software security, and service abuse prevention.
• Skills: Proficiency in Web Services, Microservices, Databases, and Anti-Fraud technologies. Experience with technologies such as Node.js, React, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, AWS is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Approach: A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and drive projects to completion in ambiguous environments. Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Technical depth: Strong background in software security and big data with the ability to collaborate with senior technical leaders.
