Job Summary: The SEO AI Director will lead and scale our next innovative generation SEO strategies, with a strong emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning. This strategic leadership role blends cutting-edge SEO expertise with AI-driven product innovation, with a special focus on Local Business Optimization (LBO) and Google Business Profile (GBP) management.
As a senior executive within a rapidly growing digital agency, you will lead the full lifecycle—from strategy and execution to the development and productization—of scalable, AI-powered SEO solutions. Your work will directly impact client performance, revenue growth, and long-term retention through innovation, automation, and measurable results.
Duties Responsibilities:
Strategic SEO & AI Leadership
- Develop and lead an AI-driven SEO roadmap aligned with business growth and client retention goals.
- Oversee Local SEO at scale, including GBP optimization, audits, and AI-powered citation management.
- Design and standardize performance metrics and AI tools that evaluate SEO success across locations and verticals.
- Spearhead innovation in SEO services by integrating predictive models and algorithms into the SEO lifecycle to improve rankings, engagement, and lead generation..
Product Development & Innovation
- Identify, develop, and launch AI-driven SEO products and features that solve key pain points in local and multi-location SEO.
- Manage product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and user feedback loops to ensure continuous innovation and customer-centric evolution.
- Lead internal testing and pilot programs that validate new service models and automation capabilities before full-scale deployment.
Client Strategy & Communication
- Act as the strategic SEO lead in client engagements, presentations, and business reviews.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients through direct communication, transparent reporting, and performance insights.
- Translate complex AI/SEO concepts into actionable, business-focused language that resonates with clients’ commercial objectives.
Execution & Implementation
- Oversee core SEO functions (e.g., keyword research, technical audits, GBP optimization) enhanced by AI tools and automation.
- Work closely with internal teams to integrate AI into content workflows, on-page optimization, and local ranking strategies.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time execution of all deliverables through AI-augmented processes and hands-on leadership.
Team Management & Performance
- Build and mentor a high-performing SEO team empowered with the tools, knowledge, and mindset to embrace AI innovation.
- Establish clear KPIs, growth plans, and career development programs aligned with both individual and organizational success.
- Promote a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and performance-driven outcomes.
Service Innovation & Market Adaptation
- Monitor evolving trends in search engine algorithms, AI technologies, and customer behavior to proactively adjust strategies.
- Explore and implement advanced technologies (e.g., GPT-4o, vector databases, etc.) to increase operational efficiency and strategic impact.
- Continuously evaluate and productize service offerings to unlock new recurring revenue streams from SEO automation and insights.
Qualifications
- 6–10+ years in SEO and applying AI tools to real-world SEO problems at scale.
- Deep expertise in managing GBP and local SEO across enterprise, multi-location, or multi-client portfolios.
- Deep knowledge of AI tools used for SEO.
- Demonstrated experience in product development, from concept to launch, especially for SEO or marketing-related tools.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing client relationships, and driving performance-based results.
- Strong command of modern AI technologies utilize for SEO.
- Advanced understanding of technical SEO.
- Experience in digital marketing services or agency environments preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience developing or managing AI-powered tools within an SEO, marketing, or growth context.
