Senior Technical Program Manager - AI Research Systems

Joining NVIDIA’s AI Efficiency Team means contributing to the infrastructure that powers our innovative AI research. This team focuses on optimizing efficiency and resiliency of ML workloads, as well as developing scalable AI infrastructure tools and services. Our objective is to deliver a resilient and scalable environment for NVIDIA’s AI researchers, providing them with the vital resources and scale to champion innovation.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) on this team, you’ll confront and lead all aspects of the unique challenges of building and maintaining the AI and data infrastructure necessary for training flagship models at an outstanding scale. Your focus will be on increasing researcher productivity, as well improving system stability, availability and performance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive project management activities, including the planning, execution, and delivery of large, cross-functional initiatives. Define project scope, schedule, priorities, and success criteria while leading resources and supervising progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead efforts across multiple teams, including engineering, platform, framework, and other cross-functional partners. Facilitate requirements brainstorming and design review sessions with internal and external partners to ensure the platform meets user needs.
  • Bring to bear your deep understanding of the AI/ML platform stack and infrastructure to make informed decisions and provide guidance to the teams involved. Exercise technical judgment in working with large, cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and understand the product’s value and impact on internal research teams.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Proactively remove roadblocks and facilitate effective communication between teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Partner with diverse teams across engineering, research, and operations to drive solutions that address the complexities of large-scale AI development.

What We Need To See:

  • BS or MS Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in program management, preferably in AI/ML platform development or AI/ML infrastructure. Demonstrated experience leading large, sophisticated projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of the AI/ML platform stack, including data ingestion, preprocessing, model training, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, including network and storage requirements.
  • Proven track record to lead cross-functional teams, drive consensus, and balance multiple collaborators.
  • Ability to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

The base salary range is 124,000 USD - 247,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
