Senior Python Developer I AI-Led Tech Company (Remote or Hybrid in Melbourne)

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Python Developer with a strong backend engineering mindset and interest in large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and scalable AI infrastructure.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Build robust Python-based backend systems that power enterprise AI products.
• Develop end-to-end AI applications integrating LLMs, vector databases, and enterprise APIs.
• Collaborate with a small, high-performing team to ship production-grade systems on Azure or GCP.
• Design and deploy APIs using FastAPI, integrating with providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mistral.
• Contribute to DevOps efforts, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Optimise for latency, reliability, and cost through smart architectural decisions.

🧠 Key Tech Stack:

• Languages: Python
• AI Tooling: LangChain, LiteLLM, OpenAI, vector databases (Pinecone, Azure AI Search)
• Cloud: Azure or GCP
• DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD
• Frontend (nice-to-have): Vue.js

✅ About You:

• You’re an experienced backend engineer, ideally with 7+ years of Python development in production environments. Bonus if you have knowledge of Vue.js
• Ideally, you have worked with LLMs, AI workflows, or data pipelines and have experience (or strong curiosity) in RAG systems.
• You’re confident deploying scalable, secure APIs and integrating cloud-native services.
• Bonus points if you’ve contributed to or used open-source AI libraries and frameworks.
• You’re proactive, collaborative, and excited to build products that move fast and scale smart.
