Senior Generative AI Engineer - Transformative AI Solutions

As a member of our dynamic Enterprise AI team, you will play an instrumental role in building and maintaining APIs and SDKs for training, fine-tuning, and accessing AI models at scale, working with cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) and Foundation Models (FMs) within our robust public cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect and Deploy: Design, build, and deploy core APIs and SDKs for accessing LLMs and proprietary FMs, including tasks related to training, fine-tuning, and orchestration.
• Design for Performance: Create APIs optimized for real-time applications, scalability, usability, and automated governance.
• Enhance Experiences: Develop application-specific interfaces that leverage LLMs and FMs to improve both associate and customer experiences.
• Innovate GenAI Capabilities: Enable users to create new Generative AI capabilities.
• Monitor and Maintain: Develop tools and processes for monitoring API access patterns and operational health.
• Ensure Safety: Implement AI safety measures and guardrails in the API layer, collaborating closely with researchers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of experience in designing, building, and deploying ML application platforms.
• At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
• At least 1 year of experience in building, scaling, and optimizing training or inferencing systems for deep neural networks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale AI products or platforms for NLP, speech, computer vision, or recommendation systems.
• Knowledge of Graph Theory and Graph ML, including frameworks like Deep Graph Learning (DGL) or PyTorch, and graph querying tools such as Apache Tinkerpop Gremlin or Apache Spark Graphframes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Previous experience with tech and product-driven companies or startups.
• Skill in iterating rapidly with researchers and engineers to enhance product experiences.
• Expertise in optimizing ML algorithms and software for performance, efficiency, and resource utilization.

Compensation

• New York City (Hybrid On-Site): (165,100 - )188,500 annually
• San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): (174,900 - )199,700 annually
• Remote (Regardless of Location): (140,000 - )159,800 annually
• Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of hours worked, and the role is eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
