Senior Data Scientist (Generative AI & NLP)

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist specializing in NLP, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our team building privately hosted GenAI solutions for risk management.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and fine-tuning open-source language models to create advanced, domain-specific NLP functionalities. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in implementing end-to-end NLP solutions, a strong understanding of ML model architectures, and the ability to succeed in both independent and collaborative, cross-functional team environments. Clear analytical thinking, architectural knowledge, and hands-on development proficiency are crucial.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design custom Machine Learning, Generative AI, NLP, and Large Language Models (LLMs) for both batch and streaming AI/ML pipelines
• Collaborate with data science, MLOps, and technology teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable model solutions
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure model accuracy, consistency, and reliability during development and UAT phases while optimizing for performance and efficiency
• Collaborate with MLOps teams to implement and deploy machine learning models into production environments ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability
• Adhere to established governance rules, design standards, and best practices in ML model development as outlined by senior leadership

REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated proficiency working with large structured and unstructured datasets to create actionable analytics through ML, NLP, and computer vision tools
• Practical background in developing NLP solutions, with significant exposure to transformer-based model architectures
• Proven skills in implementing large-scale information retrieval and search systems, including both keyword search and semantic search using embeddings
• Expertise in fine-tuning and optimizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and building Generative AI (GAI) applications
• Strong understanding of NLP methodologies, from extractive to generative approaches, and familiarity with recent developments in LLMs and open-source AI resources
