About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (AI) to join our client, an innovative and fast-growing health tech company that is shaping the future of digital healthcare. In this role, you will analyse complex healthcare data, develop predictive machine learning models and collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and healthcare professionals to create impactful solutions. Your work will play a critical role in improving patient outcomes, optimising healthcare processes and ensuring data-driven insights support key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy advanced AI and machine learning models to support key business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and software developers, to integrate AI solutions.
  • Analyse large structured and unstructured datasets to extract actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in AI, ML, and data science.
  • Monitor, refine and improve current data models, ensuring scalability and performance.

What We’re Looking For?

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in data science and AI-focused roles.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Proficiency in data processing and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for model deployment.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Understanding of MLOps best practices, including model monitoring and retraining.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of algorithmic approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for team collaboration and reporting.

Bonus Points for:

  • Knowledge of Finnish language.
  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
  • Previous work in the health tech industry or a similar domain.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) and privacy regulations (GDPR).
  • Exposure to Graph databases (Neo4j) or real-time data processing tools (Kafka).
  • Contributions to open-source projects in the field of AI or data science.
  • Certification or specialist training in machine learning or AI.
