The Role

We’re seeking an exceptional Python engineer who lives and breathes AI to join as our first technical hire. You’ll be employee 1, working directly with the founder to build production-ready AI systems from the ground up.

This isn’t just another engineering role - it’s a chance to shape the technical foundation of a company poised for explosive growth. Python mastery is non-negotiable - you’ll be architecting and implementing complex AI systems entirely in Python.

What You’ll Do

• Build Production AI Systems in Python (60%)

• Develop sophisticated multi-agent AI architectures using advanced Python patterns

• Create autonomous AI workflows with Python-based frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, …)

• Implement RAG systems with vector databases using Python SDKs

• Design and deploy LLM orchestration pipelines with async Python

• Build real-time AI agent communication systems leveraging Python’s concurrency

• Technical Leadership (25%)

• Make critical architectural decisions

• Establish engineering best practices

• Own the technical roadmap

• Mentor future team members as we scale

• Product Development (15%)

• Work directly with early customers

• Rapid prototyping and iteration

• Demo preparation for investors

• Technical documentation

Essential Requirements

Python Mastery (This is the 1 requirement)

• 10+ years of Python development (you think in Python, dream in Python)

• Expert-level understanding of async/await, asyncio, and concurrent programming

• Deep expertise with modern Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask)

• Mastery of Python design patterns, type hints, and decorators

• Clean, Pythonic code is your natural style

• Experience with Python performance optimization and profiling

AI/LLM Experience (Critical)

• Built multiple production AI agents (not just tutorials)

• Deep experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source LLMs

• Created RAG applications that actually work at scale

• Implemented agent-to-agent communication systems (Nice to have)

• Experience with prompt engineering and optimization (Nice to have)

Modern AI Development Tools

• Vibe coding proficiency - You use Claude Code and/or Cursor daily

• Git/GitHub workflow mastery

• Docker and containerization

• Cloud deployment (AWS/Azure)

• CI/CD pipeline experience

Python-Based AI Portfolio

You must have built in Python (not just experimented with):

• Multiple autonomous AI agents using pure Python or Python frameworks

• RAG systems with real-world data implemented in Python

• Production LLM applications with Python backends

• Agent orchestration systems written in Python

• Tool-calling and function-calling implementations using Python

Nice to Have

• Experience with message queuing ( Kafka)

• Experience with Typescript, Node.js, Next.js, and frontend development

• Knowledge of vector databases and embeddings

• Contributions to open-source AI projects

• Experience with Kubernetes

• Background in consulting or enterprise software

• Previous startup experience
