Senior AI Software Developer

We are looking for a Senior AI Software Developer to join our team at EPAM in Zürich. In this role, you will be working with our prestigious banking client, focusing on the development of innovative AI-driven solutions for their centralized system designed to manage, process, and deliver real-time and historical market data, as well as financial product data. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams and design seamless integrations between AI systems and backend resources. We offer a hybrid work model with a mix of remote and on-site work at our client’s office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions, leveraging Large Language Models (LLM) and multi-agent system
• Develop proof-of-concepts and integration architectures for AI systems
• Enable communication between agentic AI and backend systems using Microsoft Cloud Platform (MCP)
• Work with Big Data technologies, including Data Lakes, ETL pipelines and Azure Data Factory, to process and store large-scale data
• Build and integrate APIs using RESTful and GraphQL frameworks for seamless backend communication
• Use Azure tools such as Databricks, DevOps and Data Factory to develop cloud-based solutions
• Leverage Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing
• Collaborate with product managers, backend engineers and data scientists to align technical solutions with business objectives
• Optimize the platform for performance, scalability and reliability and document technical designs, processes and best practices
• Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and contribute to innovation within the team

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and Python for backend and AI solution development
• Strong experience with Azure tools, including Databricks, DevOps, Data Factory and MCP
• In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, particularly LLMs and multi-agent AI systems
• Expertise in Big Data processing and storage (e.g., Data Lake, ETL)
• Hands-on experience with API development using RESTful and GraphQL
• Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and reporting
