Senior AI/ML Engineer (all genders)

We are lookin for a Senior AI/ML Engineer (all genders) for designing, building, and deploying machine learning models and systems that drive our AI initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to create robust and scalable AI solutions that enhance our products and services. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming data into actionable insights and delivering high-quality AI applications.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and optimize AI/ML/DL models based on use cases related to the processing of medical image and multi-modal data.
• Deployment and Operationalization of AI workflows at Bayer’s owned platforms
• Identify problems related to performance, utilization and scale in existing systems and conduct performance tuning and optimization
• Collaborate with data scientists and internal/external development teams
• Lead and supervise more junior or entry level Engineers
• Develop tools and software solutions utilizing large language models and agentic AI
• Document processes, model architectures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

WHO YOU ARE

• Master degree in Computer Science with several years of work experience.
• Well versed with Large Language Mode (LLM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms and techniques.
• Hands-on experience in leveraging large language models (LLMs) and implementing agentic AI.
• Excellent knowledge in the AI/ML related Google Cloud ecosystem and working experience in ML Ops including containerization, monitoring, versioning and automation.
• Good understanding of the digital product development process as well as data science/engineering methodologies.
• Expert programming ability in Python and experience in working with SQL/NoSQL database systems.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, microservice architecture and REST APIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
• Ability to effectively work across organizational boundaries with experience in working in international environments and good intercultural communication skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in local language and English.
