Product Owner (m/f/d) Data & AI - 100% Remote

  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Duration: minimum 6 months
  • Remote with occasional on-site workshops (if feasible)
  • Preferred: Atlanta, USA (for proximity to key stakeholders)
  • Also feasible: Germany or Greater Germany (DACH Region)

As part of a strategic digital transformation initiative, we are launching a Data & AI product designed to enhance enterprise-wide decision-making, automation, and governance. This product will serve as a foundational platform for data-driven services, integrating advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities into core business processes. We are looking for a freelance Product Owner to lead this effort from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical feasibility, and user needs.

  • Act as the Product Owner managing the product backlog and roadmap.
  • Lead the product to an MVP (clearly defined scope of targeted MVP application in the US)
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable user stories and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, AI/ML specialists, architects, and business stakeholders to define and prioritize features.
  • Drive the development of capabilities such as:
  • Data ingestion and quality pipelines
  • AI model lifecycle management
  • Governance and compliance tooling
  • Self-service analytics and reporting
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Ensure delivery milestones are met and value is continuously delivered.
  • Monitor KPIs and user feedback to guide product evolution.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in data/AI or digital platform environments.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, analytics, and AI/ML workflows.
  • Experience working in agile teams and managing complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise data governance or digital transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure Data Services, Databricks, Power BI, or similar.
  • Located in ATL or DACH region for better time zone alignment and collaboration.
