Principal Research Scientist, AI Security

Content Security Lab in Helsinki Research Center’s mission is to advance technology to protect the online safety of Huawei mobile users. We are looking for a passionate and motivated technical leader with a solid track record of solving challenging problems, advancing state-of-the-art, and a demonstrated passion for ground-breaking research that could be scaled to the production environment with an emphasis on the intersection of AI and Security.

Business direction:

Jointly define and oversee the research agenda for Content Security Lab in the direction of AI Security & Safety.

Work scope and Tasks:

• Provide technology insights and contribute to the development of Content Security Research Roadmap.
• Propose research topics and prepare research proposals for state-of-the-art research on AI Security & Safety topics.
• Conduct state-of-the-art research on AI Security & Safety topics.
• Assess the technology advancement and novelty of research proposal and provide technical assessment report.
• Provide technical guidance to internal and university collaborators' expert teams on solutions' architecture and design.
• Report and present findings and solutions to internal stakeholders and external audiences with effective written and verbal communication.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Mathematics or other related fields.
• In the past 10+ years focused on researching the AI or/and Security field with good track records.
• Successfully experienced in advanced AI in aligning AI with human values and expectations such as RLHF, adversarial training, neural network editing, formal logic & game theory, capabilities to detect and understand risks, intent modeling and reasoning, robustness, capabilities of understanding local cultures, explainable AI.
• Experience in Security threat or abuse detection, deep fake detections, fairness, transparency, and robust and explainable AI is a plus.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts at every level in the organization
• Pioneering novel methods and neural networks that revolutionized machine learning, or AI field or revolutionized the industry is a big bonus.
• International awards in the field of AI/ML/CV and highly recognized by experts in the same field.
• Strong knowledge and experience in image, language, and multi-modal pre-training models, neural network architecture, and algorithm design.
• Strong publication record in top conferences i.e., AAAI/ACL/CVPR/ICCV/ EMNLP/ NAACL
• Good teamwork, enjoy working with multi-cultural teams, passionate about challenging the status quo.
