Position: Part-Time Web Developer with potential to full time role

Location: Remote

Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week (flexible, based on project deadlines and content volume).

Compensation: 200 - 250 AUD per month. This compensation reflects a foundational rate for a role that offers significant learning and growth opportunities in a cutting-edge field.

Key Responsibilities - What You’ll Be Doing:Website Development & Feature Enhancement

• New Feature Implementation: Design, develop, and implement engaging new features, sections, and pages to enrich the user experience and provide more value to our website visitors.
• AI Tool Integration & Optimization: Integrate and optimize 2-3 new AI tools weekly into our directory, ensuring seamless functionality, optimal performance, and addressing any potential issues (e.g., optimizing prompt generator code for speed and efficiency).
• Website Security Management: Proactively monitor and manage website security, implementing best practices and necessary updates to protect against vulnerabilities and threats.
• Technical Support (Internal): Provide technical support to the Employer as needed for website functionality, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
• Code Maintenance & Consistency: Utilize and manage existing CSS and JavaScript classes that have been refactored within the Aimo theme child files, ensuring clean, maintainable code and consistent brand identity across the site.

Content & Blog Management

• Blog Creation & Publishing: Research, write, and publish 2 new blog posts weekly. Each post must be highly informative, provide significant value, and directly answer people’s search query intents related to AI tool reviews, comparisons, “Top X” lists, guides, and tutorials.
• This includes:
• Incorporating clear screenshots of AI tools UI and sample AI tool outputs.
• Adding relevant tables, graphs, diagrams, and charts to visualize data and concepts.
• Including a comprehensive table of contents and a FAQ section for each blog post.
• Blogs will be researched and created with the help of AI, but must be diligently posted as clean semantic HTML code, utilizing existing CSS classes and JS classes for brand consistency within WordPress editor blocks.
• Content Optimization & Improvement: Update and enhance approximately 8 existing blog posts, improving their content, structure, and SEO performance. This involves refining existing visuals or adding new screenshots, sample outputs, visual data, tables of content, and FAQ sections as needed, all while maintaining brand consistency using existing CSS and JS classes.
• Content Distribution: Expand our reach by publishing website blogs to external platforms such as Bing and Medium.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Marketing

• On-Page SEO Mastery: Conduct comprehensive on-page SEO optimization, including meticulous review and adjustment of image alt text and meta data for all key pages and posts.
• Technical SEO Implementation:
• Implement and verify schema markup on each webpage to enhance search engine understanding and rich snippets.
• Ensure all website pages are correctly indexed on Google and other major search engines.
• Develop and implement advanced strategies to boost organic reach and improve search engine rankings.
• Image Optimization: Perform bulk compression of existing image files to modern WebP format and adjust critical image dimensions for superior website performance and faster loading times.
• Affiliate Domain Verification: Accurately add necessary meta tags/code for affiliate domain verification (e.g., sintra.ai) within the website’s head section or via recommended WordPress plugins.
• Unused Asset Management: Regularly identify and delete unused images and other files to streamline website efficiency and optimize loading speeds.

Administrative & Communication

• Time Tracking & Communication: Accurately track all work hours by clocking in and clocking out when working using the Connecteam application’s time tracking feature. All primary communication, task assignments, and progress reporting will be managed via Connecteam.

Required Skills & Experience - What We Need From You:

• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proven experience working with WordPress or similar CMS platforms, particularly with theme child files (e.g., Aimo theme) for customization and maintenance.
• Familiarity with website performance optimization techniques and plugins (e.g., Rank Math).
• SEO Expertise:
• Demonstrable experience in implementing successful SEO strategies that drive organic traffic.
• In-depth knowledge of on-page and technical SEO best practices.
• Proficiency with tools for keyword research, competitor analysis, and ranking tracking.
• Content Creation & Management:
• Ability to conduct thorough research and write high-quality, engaging, and informative blog content.
• Strong understanding of content structuring for readability, SEO, and visual presentation (including tables, charts, and diagrams).
• Tool Proficiency:
• Proficient in using modern development tools such as VS Code, Cursor, and browser developer tools.
• Ability to effectively leverage AI tools like Google Gemini for content generation, research, coding assistance, and image/data visualization ideas.
• Soft Skills:

• Backup Internet Solution: A reliable backup internet solution (e.g., mobile hotspot, secondary ISP) is required to ensure minimal disruption during primary internet interruptions.
• Electricity Loss Mitigation: A plan or solution must be in place to mitigate the impact of electricity loss (e.g., UPS, access to a generator) to maintain consistent work availability.
• Capable Computer Setup: A capable computer setup suitable for demanding web development tasks, including running development environments, image optimization tools, and content creation software.
