If so, let’s talk.Your role and responsibilitiesWe are looking for a curious and driven AI Researcher to join our team focused on advancing the capabilities of AI agents in enterprise environments. This role involves contributing to the development of trustworthy, adaptive agentic systems that integrate language models with structured workflows and policy-aware reasoning. A key focus is on improving reliability and efficiency by reducing dependence on unpredictable LLM behavior and instead leveraging deterministic, verifiable components that support compliance and scalability. You will support research and experimentation around agent robustness, policy adherence, and performance evaluation across diverse use cases. The ideal candidate is passionate about applied AI, comfortable working with both code and data, and eager to collaborate in a fast-paced, research-driven setting.Your Role and Responsibilities:Design and evaluate agentic workflows with emphasis on trust, accuracy, and policy complianceDevelop and implement methods that reduce reliance on stochastic LLM behaviorApply hands-on skills in coding, data analysis, and model evaluationContribute to the development of end-to-end systems, from ideation to deploymentCollaborate on writing and publishing research papers in top-tier venuesRequired education Master’s DegreePreferred education Doctorate DegreeRequired technical and professional expertiseRequirements:M.Sc. or higher degree in Computer Science or a related fieldProven hands-on experience in Machine Learning and AIStrong programming skills and familiarity with modern AI frameworksExperience developing and deploying AI systems in real-world settingsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environmentExcellent communication skills, including the ability to contribute to technical publicationsABOUT BUSINESS UNITIBM Research is the organic growth engine of IBM and an innovation engine for our customers and partners.
