AI Machine Learning & LLM Software Engineer – Madrid or Barcelona – Fixed Term Contract – €45k-€65k p/a – Hybrid remote working – English language only

We are a specialist recruitment agency seeking an AI Machine Learning and LLM software engineering specialist to join our client’s growing AI/ML team in Madrid OR Barcelona.

• This role will be offered on a fixed term contract basis lasting until around the middle of 2026.
• Candidates must speak fluent English (Spanish is not required but would be useful)
• Salary negotiable within €45k – €65k p/a range

What You’ll Do

• Work in a team of talented ML and AI engineers.
• Drive end-to-end development of Large Language Model and CV projects – from research to production.
• Work hands-on with Large Language Model fine-tuning (LoRA/QLoRA), pruning, quantization, and compression to optimize performance.
• Oversee deployment of models at scale, balancing innovation with production-grade reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Shape the team’s roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals.

⚡ What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience fine-tuning LLMs (beyond API integration) – LoRA, QLoRA, pruning, quantization, distillation.
• Strong Computer Vision background – object detection, segmentation, multimodal learning.
• Hands-on coding ability in Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face, TensorFlow .
• Knowledge of MLOps and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Experience leading ML/AI teams , mentoring engineers, and delivering production-grade systems.
• Excellent communication skills – able to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with RAG systems, agentic AI, or multimodal models .
• Exposure to high-performance optimization tools (DeepSpeed, TensorRT, OpenVINO).
• Academic publications or open-source contributions in ML/AI.
