What We Do

Gain Life helps individuals and organizations return to health, work, productivity, and financial wellbeing. We do this with software that integrates behavioral economics with AI to proactively guide individuals through the claim process, identify potential delays, and suggest interventions for a more efficient, supportive process. As one can imagine, having to navigate a maze of paperwork and processes while not at your best can be a stressful situation. Our team creates software that helps facilitate and improve that experience.

About This Role

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong Python skills, a theoretical understanding of AI/ML alogrithms, and familarity with data manipulation libraries and LLM-based approaches. During your time with us, you’d be expected to develop and maintain AI models specifically designed for seamless integration into our SaaS tool. You’d work closely with our Head of AI and CTO. Compensation will reflect the candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient Python code to develop and maintain AI models specifically designed for seamless integration into our SaaS tool
• Experiment with a variety of AI/ML models, including traditional (e.g., decision trees, SVM) and state-of-the-art LLMs
• Rigorously test and fine-tune models within the AWS environment, employing techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning, to optimize their performance on real-world data, ensuring they meet the specific requirements and constraints of our SaaS product
• Document results thoroughly and provide actionable recommendations for further model improvement and refinement
• Explore, clean, and preprocess text and other datasets to prepare them for use in AI/ML models, with a particular focus on optimizing the training and fine-tuning of LLM-based components within our AWS infrastructure
• Apply analytical skills to extract meaningful insights from data using statistical and visualization tools, emphasizing the understanding of patterns in language and communication to enhance the performance and usability of our SaaS product
• Collaborate with the team to seamlessly integrate AI/ML solutions into our existing SaaS tool, ensuring optimal performance and user experience within the AWS ecosystem
• Continuously stay informed about the latest advancements in AI/ML, particularly LLMs and generative AI, with a focus on techniques like RAG and fine-tuning; and actively share your findings with the team to drive innovation and improvement of our SaaS offering

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python (demonstrated through projects, coursework, etc.)
• Theoretical understanding of various AI/ML algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) and their applications
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights
• Experience with essential data manipulation libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy) and ML algorithms (e.g., XGBoost)
• Experience with LLM-based approaches like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning, as well as AWS services for AI/ML (e.g., AWS Lambda, Bedrock)
