AI Developer - Predictive Modeling (independent Contractor, 100% Remote)

About Us

Founded in 2004, LARVOL is a global SaaS company that embraces a Remote First, VR Always philosophy. We take pride in our creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial remote work culture. Specializing in delivering innovative solutions to the pharmaceutical and life science industries, our product suite includes competitive intelligence reports, thought leader tracking, biomarker tools, and conference planning solutions. As a forward-thinking company, we are particularly focused on providing cutting-edge solutions in the oncology sector.

The Opportunity

As an AI Developer, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and optimizing AI models focused on predicting key outcomes, such as hazard ratios, customer behavior, market trends, and more. You will work with large datasets, design and train machine learning algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI models with a focus on predictive analytics.
  • Build and optimize machine learning models (supervised and unsupervised) for predictive tasks such as hazard ratio prediction, time series forecasting, and classification.
  • Apply neural network architectures like LSTMs, CNNs, and feedforward networks to improve prediction accuracy.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are optimized for model training and deployment.
  • Analyze large datasets, clean, preprocess, and transform data to fit into models.
  • Experiment with different feature engineering techniques, including encoding methods such as GPT-based encoding.
  • Use deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras to implement models.
  • Optimize models for performance, including GPU/CUDA acceleration for fast training.
  • Monitor model performance and fine-tune hyperparameters to improve accuracy.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into AI solutions.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 1+ years of experience in AI development, with a focus on predictive modeling.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, decision trees, neural networks).
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
  • Experience with time series forecasting and sequence-based models like LSTMs.
  • Familiarity with optimization for CUDA acceleration.
  • Knowledge of data preprocessing techniques, including feature engineering and encoding methods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the healthcare area.

What we Provide

  • Compensation: Enjoy a competitive compensation.

  • Ultimate Flexibility: Experience the freedom of 100% remote work, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.

  • Diverse Culture: Thrive in our creative and entrepreneurial environment that fosters innovative thinking and diversity of thought.

This is a full-time independent contractor role. If you meet the above requirements and are excited about the opportunity, we would love to hear from you. We look forward to exploring how you can contribute to our team!
